Introducing "Summer at Itako with Rainbow" by Hasui Kawase, an exquisite Japanese woodblock print from 1935. Kawase is a pivotal figure in the Shin-Hanga movement, known for infusing Western influences into the traditional ukiyo-e printmaking technique, reinventing the charm of Japanese landscapes. His prints capture serene moments, inviting the observer into experiences of quiet reflection and tranquility.

Our offering brings this fine art print to you on exceptional acid-free archival paper, or alternatively, artist's cotton canvas. Both options ensure vibrant color longevity and detail, providing you a timeless work for your collection. The Unique Maps Co. offers diverse size and framing selections, with options for personalization and customization to suit any interior décor.

Hasui Kawase’s notability stems from his evocative interpretation of landscapes, emphasizing the serene beauty inherent in nature. "Itako no Natsu" (Summer at Itako) harmoniously balances elements of lush greenery, rich earth tones, and tranquil blues, rendering a captivating summer view. This piece of art transports you to the gentle swells of Japan's natural grandeur, evidenced by its masterful depiction of nature in her summer finery, bathed in a verdant palette touched by the elusive beauty of a rainbow after a passing shower.

What makes this artwork particularly noteworthy is its dedicated illustrations of land and aquatic elements in perfect integration, bathed in subtle hues of green and brown, accented with gentle blues, portraying Hasui's extraordinary ability to render light and texture. The technical prowess and artistic vision combine to create an emotionally resonant image.
